What is a Christopagan?

(Draft) 

One of the things I like most about this path is that there are no doctrines etc. Christianity and paganism can be combined in a way that you personally identify with. 

Think of it as a spectrum. At one end is Christianity, at the other end is paganism. Anything between those two points qualifies as Christopagan 🙂 

Where Do I Begin?!

How do I could start this blog?! So many options... 

• My personal history
• My spiritual/religious history
• Big life events that have shaped the above
• My spiritual journey for the last couple of years
• Etc

Although I may include those in later posts, they won't be a part of this first one. Instead, I am going to copy and paste something that I wrote a couple of months ago. I will preface it by saying that I have been gradually deconstructing for more than ten years. About two years ago, it had a slight uptick. This year, it's increased by like 1000% 😳 This is what I wrote as sort of a brain dump:

What’s going through my head right now re spirituality…

 

What if the god of the OT isn’t *the* God? What if he is just the god of the Israelites? That would make so much of the OT make sense as to why the god of the OT is so different than the one Jesus taught.

 

What of the other gods who are mentioned? Especially in the OT? Who are they, and what is their place? What about Deuteronomy 32:8? It seems to all hinge on which translation of the bible you use.

“A Dead Sea scroll identifies the original as saying “sons of God”, or more accurately, sons of El, the Canaanite father of the gods. Suddenly, it all makes sense: Yahweh has been

allocated Israel as his inheritance, while the various other sons of El receive other nations as their inheritance.”

This interpretation would make so much sense…

 

Is Jesus a manifestation of *the* God? Is that why he’s so different?

 

Did “Paul” take a little of god and a little of Jesus and combine them into its own thing?

 

What of “Paul’s writings” being directed to specific churches? What makes them applicable for more than those churches?

 

What makes any of the bible applicable for us today? Not that it isn't, but it goes back to the question I've had for a long time of who gets to decide, and why? 

 

In light of all this, who is Jesus?

 

So much in the air… But these two things I am sure of. There is a Divine Source (God). And this Divine Source is ultimate love.

Some other thoughts… 

After typing all this out yesterday, I slept so well last night! The best I’ve slept in a long time without having meds before bed. And this morning, I had not just one but *two* “creations” by my crows - one was a semicircle of rocks on the sidewalk, the other was a line of leaves and peanut shells pointing to my car door on the driveway. When I was walking to the PC for health class this morning, the fish crows out there were talking away to me. And Paul messaged me after his doctor’s appointment with a picture of a huge murder he saw on his way to work. Coincidence? 

Something I have read in multiple places lately that makes sense also… 

A theory about the lake of fire in the bible. In the bible, fire is a purifier. When it talks about people being thrown into the lake of fire, is that sort of like purgatory? It “burns off” what isn’t good about you so that you can stand being in God’s presence? Interesting… 

Something I forgot to add earlier… This morning while I was getting ready, I got a God-nudge to check Facebook. Usually when that happens, the first thing when I open FB is a friend having a rough day, requesting prayer, etc. Not this time. It was this…
